Timsbury Theatre Group
was founded in 1973 and has been producing plays, pantomimes and
entertainment of various kinds ever since. Some of the original members
of the group are still members, so we have a great sense of continuity.
We
are past winners of the Rose Bowl Awards for Amateur Drama and pride
ourselves on aiming for the highest standards in all aspects of our
productions. However, we are very informal, we do not demand that you
meet any kind of standard before you join; all we really look for is
enthusiasm!
We
meet in the Conygre Hall, Timsbury
most Tuesday evenings at 8pm (you can find the Hall here on Google Maps)
and are always interested in meeting new members. You don't even have to
get up on stage, there are plenty of other
things to do with any production, from scene building to costumes to make
up. For most productions we will rehearse twice a week (usually Tuesday
and Thursday) plus, of course, the week of the production itself.
Annual
membership is £10 a year, with special rates for juniors and temporary
members. Anyone directly involved in a production has to be a member of
the group. That also means you can join in any of our other social events
throughout the year, get a discount on tickets and receive our
newsletters.
